Job summary

Always Compassionate Health in Melville, NY is seeking a Home Health Aide to provide personal care and support to clients in their homes. Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must hold a Home Health Aide certificate with state requirements.
• Must maintain in-service education to keep the certificate current.
• Must establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and agency staff.
• Care for sick and disabled with genuine interest and sympathy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a healthy, safe environment and provide nutritional and environmental support.
• Assist with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, walking and feeding the client.
• Position the client when instructed to do so.
• Assist with treatments and therapy as ordered by the physician and approved by the nursing supervisor.
• Remind the client to take medications.
• Assist with payment of bills only when authorized and documented.
• Run errands when authorized and documented.
• Report important information or changes to the agency or nursing supervisor.
• Use medical supplies and equipment as appropriate.
• Provide emotional support and develop a trusting relationship with the client.
• Encourage client independence.
