Job summary

Qualifications

• Meets the training requirements in accordance with State and Federal laws.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Empathy for the needs of ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
• Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured as required and in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen.
• Assisting patients with dressing, toileting, and maintaining a clean living area.
• Planning and preparing nutritious meals and assisting in feeding if necessary.
• Taking and recording temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered.
• Assisting in ambulation and exercise according to plan of care and performing ROM as ordered.
• Assisting in self-administration of medications and reporting changes to the nurse.
• Performing patient laundry and ensuring safety with equipment as needed.
• Adhering to documentation and care procedures and professional conduct.
