Job summary

First Day Homecare seeks compassionate aides to provide in-home personal care. You will assist with ADLs, offer companionship, and transport clients as per care plans. Documentation and teamwork with the care team are essential to maintain quality care.

Applicants should hold Florida- or state-certified aide credentials, CNA/HHA certification, or nursing-school graduation, with CPR and a valid driver’s license. Flexible scheduling accommodates mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call needs.

Qualifications

• Formal aide certification from Florida or other state, or an Agency program meeting Medicare standards.
• CNA License or HHA Certificate from a recognized institution or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a written HHA competency exam.
• Proof of graduation from an accredited school of nursing (Florida or other state).
• Ability to read, write, and follow a written care plan.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; reliable and punctual.
• Licensed driver with insured vehicle; able to work independently per care plans.
• Current CPR certification; willingness to participate in ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Assist client with ADLs such as bathing, meals, and safe ambulation/transfers.
• Provide companionship and transportation per the care plan, when authorized.
• Document care provided and maintain accurate records for the Agency.
• Work collaboratively with the client’s care team and ensure effective communication.
• Report any changes in the client’s condition to the supervisor per the care plan.
• Promote client safety by following infection control practices and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Attend in-service programs to meet compliance and notify supervisors of educational needs.

Education

Formal aide certification (Florida or other state)

CNA License or HHA Certificate

HHA competency exam

Graduation from accredited nursing program

Read, write, follow care plan

Good verbal/written interpersonal skills

Reliable, punctual; independent
