Job summary

Right at Home Iowa City is seeking compassionate Home Health Aides (HHA) and Personal Care Assistants (PCA) to provide in-home care for seniors and adults with disabilities. You’ll help with daily living activities, light housekeeping, and health-related tasks in clients’ homes.

The role offers competitive pay of $17.00–$19.00 per hour, flexible schedules, medical benefits, 401(k), weekly pay, and paid training. A caring, team-oriented environment supports career growth and community impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Six months experience as HHA/PCA in health care settings and completion of state-approved course.
• Competency Evaluation must meet state licensing requirements.
• Sympathetic attitude toward patient care and ability to handle job demands.
• Current CPR certificate is recommended.
• Must meet requirements for direct patient care.
• Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, grooming, mobility, meal prep).
• Provide light housekeeping and safe home environment support.
• Assist with prescribed range of motion exercises and vital signs.
• Support patient with medication reminders and basic health monitoring.
• Handle tasks taught by a nurse for specific patients (dressing changes, ostomy care, etc.).
• Deliver compassionate, respectful care and maintain professional demeanor.
