Job summary

Nurse Next Door San Mateo is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides to provide nonmedical in-home support to seniors in California. Earn $19.00 to $21.00 per hour with flexible shifts from 10 to 40 hours weekly. No prior experience required; training and CA registry support provided.

Roles include assisting with ADLs, meal prep, light housekeeping, and transportation. Responsibilities include following care plans, reporting changes to the administrator, and maintaining client safety and dignity

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current registration with the CA Home Care Aide Registry is required.
• Criminal background check completed and disclosed.
• Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training per CA regulations.
• Tuberculosis testing evidence and no active TB.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Empathy for the needs of the ill and elderly.
• Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist clients with ADLs within the scope of practice.
• Help with personal hygiene and grooming.
• Assist with transfers, mobility and ambulation.
• Support prescribed exercises taught by health personnel.
• Plan and prepare meals, including therapeutic diets.
• Assist with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Perform household tasks and facilitate transportation and errands.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed.
