Job summary

Nurse Next Door San Mateo is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides to provide nonmedical support to seniors in their homes in California. You will follow a care plan, assist with daily living activities, and help clients stay comfortable and independent.

Flexible hours 10–40 per week, morning to overnight shifts, paid training, and support with state registration. No prior experience required; applicants 18+; driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Self-directed with the ability to work with little direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist clients with ADLs within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide.
• Assist with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation and mobility.
• Meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets.
• Provide in-home care and light housekeeping tasks.
• Drive to appointments or run errands for clients.
• Record all hours worked and report changes in client condition.
