Job summary

Nurse Next Door San Mateo is seeking compassionate home care aides to support seniors in their own homes. The role offers flexible hours (10–40 hours per week) with part-time, full-time, and weekend shifts available. No experience required, and training plus CA registration support are provided.

Caregivers will execute the client’s care plan, assist with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, meals, and light housekeeping. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and meet California Home Care Aide requirements.
• Must have empathy for the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Self-directed with ability to work with little supervision.
• Completion of a criminal background check and state registration compliance.
• Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Follow the client’s care plan and assist with ADLs as within scope.
• Help with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, and ambulation.
• Assist with prescribed exercises and meal planning/preparation.
• Provide housekeeping, laundry, shopping, transportation, and companionship as needed.
• Remind and assist with medications as self-administered.
• Record hours worked and report changes to supervisor.
