Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a care aide to provide personal care services in client homes under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Therapist. The aide is assigned to specific clients by a clinician who ensures comfort and well-being through necessary services.

The role reports to a Clinical Supervisor and involves 1:1 care with clients, with occasional weekends or evenings as needed, and both part-time and full-time positions available.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a formal certification training program.
• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written care plan.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured and in good repair.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and, if authorized, transportation to clients according to the care plan.
• Assist client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, meals, and safe ambulation/transfers.
• Report changes in the client’s condition to the supervisor as outlined in the care plan.
• Document care provided and maintain accurate records for the Agency.
• Work collaboratively with the client’s care team and ensure effective communication.
• Promote client safety by following infection control practices and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Attend in-service programs to meet compliance and notify supervisors of any educational needs.
