Job summary

South Kingstown Nursing & Rehab Center is seeking a part time cook to join our team. You will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of all food production in the Dietary department for our residents, ensuring meals meet quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a Food Safety and Sanitation certification and at least two years of healthcare food service experience, with the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Certification in Food Safety and Sanitation.
• A minimum of two years experience working in food services in a healthcare facility.
• The ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
• The ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• The ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel and the general public.
• Leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and nonprofessional personnel.
• The ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

Responsibilities

• The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the preparation and distribution of all food production in the Dietary department.
• In the absence of the Food Service Director, is responsible to supervise all Dietary department personnel.
