Job summary

Service Corporation International in Lansing, MI is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support to funeral operations, greet families, answer questions, and help with services and arrangements. You will prepare for services, assist with floral and ceremonial items, operate office equipment, run errands, and help with visitations and transportation as needed.

A high school diploma and customer service experience are preferred, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases; ability and willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and other keepsakes.
• Prepare documents related to services, cremations, maintenance as directed by management.
• Assist with respectful preparation of remains and operation of crematory as permitted by law.
• Perform office duties such as answering phones, operating fax, computer, and multi-line phone system.
• Run errands for floral delivery and supplies; assist with visitations, memorial and funeral services.
• Greet client families entering the office and provide information and assistance.
• Accommodate family needs during services and help with transportation and parking as required.
