Carriage Services is seeking a Funeral Assistant to support Funeral Directors and location staff. You will greet families, guide guests, and assist with memorialization materials in a compassionate, professional manner.

This part-time position emphasizes community interaction, strong communication, and empathy in emotionally charged settings. You’ll work closely with the funeral home team to ensure services run smoothly and families feel cared for.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to participate in growing market share through personal community involvement.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to empathize with client families and their guests in emotionally charged situations.
• Ability to actively respond to client families and their guests' requests.

Responsibilities

• Acts as an ambassador of the business in the community to build trust and loyalty.
• Greets and directs client families and their guests at the funeral home.
• Escorts client families to the correct chapel or parlor where services are held.
• Directs visitors to guest book and distributes memorialization materials as needed.
• Answers questions and assists with serving the needs of client families and guests during visitation and memorialization.
• Maintains professional appearance and ethical standards in all duties.
• Receives and places flowers in chapels or parlors.
• Ensures refreshments are available to client families and their guests.
• Prepares public spaces for scheduled services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
