Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Funeral Assistant to support funeral, memorial and interment services in Santurce, PR. You will help coordinate ceremonies, confirm authorizations, guide families, and assist with aftercare and logistics under company policy.

Applicants should have at least a high school diploma and 3+ years in a related role, with strong compassion and communication skills. On-site work with various office tasks and driving duties may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in funeral service or related field preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Arranges, conducts and directs bereavement rites, including funeral and memorial ceremonies.
• Confirms authorization to proceed with the service arrangements.
• Ensures client families are informed of special recognition/services available for veterans.
• Assists with funeral services by coordinating logistics and delivering keepsakes.
• Provides aftercare and pre-arrangements information when family counselors are unavailable.
• Ensures adherence to licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Prepares and completes documents related to services and maintenance.
• Assists with general office duties and facility upkeep.
