Job summary

Career Strategies is seeking a Funeral Director to guide families through one of life's most profound moments with dignity and compassion. You will oversee professional funeral and mortuary services and ensure every detail meets expectations.

You will coordinate ceremonies, manage transportation, support families administratively, and participate in on-call coverage to respond to emergencies and last-minute requests.

Qualifications

• Valid PA Funeral Director License.
• Experience in funeral directing or mortuary services.
• Excellent client communication; ability to work compassionately with families.
• Knowledge of funeral procedures, legal documentation, and records management.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving large vehicles preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including on-call shifts for emergency response coverage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of funeral services, including planning, scheduling, and executing ceremonies that reflect families' wishes.
• Manage transportation of the deceased with sensitivity and adherence to safe lifting practices and manual handling protocols.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients, offering guidance, and addressing their needs compassionately.
• Assist families with administrative tasks such as records management, documentation, and completing necessary legal paperwork.
• Embalming the deceased and conduct heavy lifting safely when preparing the deceased for viewing or burial, following proper procedures to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Participate in on-call coverage to respond promptly to emergency or last-minute service requests at any time.
