Job summary

Colville Tribal Health Care Authority is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists and staff in Omak, WA. You will prepare rooms, assist during procedures, and help with patient education while maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.

The role requires High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited DA program, and current DA certification. Duties include radiographs, charting in EHR, and infection control compliance; tribal preference applies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent education preferred.
• Current Dental Assistant certification/registration required by applicable regulations and organizational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and dental instruments for patient procedures.
• Assist dentists and other dental providers during examinations, treatments, and dental procedures.
• Prepare patients for dental treatment and provide appropriate assistance and reassurance throughout the visit.
• Take and record patient medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other information as directed.
• Obtain and document dental radiographs as permitted by applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Maintain and prepare dental instruments and equipment for use.
• Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas in accordance with infection control standards.
• Maintain appropriate levels of dental supplies and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be ordered or restocked.
• Assist with dental impressions, materials, instruments, and other procedures as directed by the dental provider and within the scope of training and applicable regulations.
• Provide patient education and instructions regarding oral hygiene, treatment procedures, and post-treatment care as directed by the dental provider.
• Assist with patient questions and/or complaints for resolution of concerns or refer concerns to the appropriate staff member.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation in the electronic health record.
• Ensure dental equipment and treatment areas are maintained in a clean, safe, orderly, and sanitary condition.
• Follow established infection prevention, bloodborne pathogen, safety, and hazardous materials procedures.
• Complies and ensures compliance with applicable legislation, funding and organizational requirements, policies and procedures
• Ensure confidential handling of sensitive team member information in line with data protection policies and laws
• Performs other duties as assigned
