Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network seeks a physician to provide medical services in both practice and hospital settings, delivering high quality, cost effective care and participating in quality and performance improvement initiatives.

The physician will perform histories, physical exams, coordinate care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with other professionals while maintaining current medical knowledge and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school and completion of residency and/or fellowship in area of specialty.
• Current or recent experience in area of specialty.
• MD or DO - licensed by the state licensure board.
• Board Certified/Eligible in the area of specialty by the appropriate medical board.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examination of all patients seen.
• Provide cost-effective, high-quality care based on best practice evidenced based medicine.
• Adheres to standardized orders and practice guidelines approved by the medical staff.
• Demonstrates competency in assessment, range or treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
• Provide regular, timely, and appropriate communication with referring physicians, patients and their families.
• Participates in education of patients and their families.
• Coordinates patient care and makes referrals to physicians, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, et cetera, as needed.
• Coordinates patient care and family counseling with public and mental health agencies as appropriate.
• Teaches wellness habits and educates patients on prevention of potential health problems or method of dealing with present problems.
• Maintains knowledge of current medical practices and skills.
• Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
