Job summary

Community Ambulance Bibb County is seeking an EMT to perform patient assessment, stabilize and transport patients, and support ambulance crews in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

The role requires Georgia EMT licensure, a clean driving record, and strong communication and teamwork skills. The position emphasizes safety, documentation, and coordination with hospitals and EMS systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of English language spelling, grammar and rules.
• Current Georgia EMT licensure.
• Minimum 2 years driving with a clean MVR.
• Ability to work well with people both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the image and reputation of the System via servant leadership and open communication.
• Contributes to committees, workgroups, and project management.
• Arrive prepared for scheduled shift and report if unable to discharge duties safely.
• Report to assigned ambulance and ensure it is stocked and fueled.
• Respond to calls and await further assignments.
• Maintain two-way communication with CMED throughout shift.
• Respond to disasters and multi-casualty scenarios as needed.
• Conduct initial patient assessment and provide treatment per Georgia EMT scope.
• Assist crew in lifting, moving, and transporting patients.
• Provide safe transport and continuous patient care.
• Communicate with receiving facility for medical direction.
• Ensure orderly transfer to receiving facility.
• Complete required documentation before end of shift.
