Job summary

Sun Health in Litchfield Park, AZ is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to join La Loma Village. You will respond to emergencies, assess and treat residents, assist with appointments and transportation, and maintain medical logs while upholding high patient care standards.

You must be Arizona-certified as an EMT with CPR, possess good communication skills, and be able to lift up to 150 pounds. The role includes routine welfare checks and collaboration with the Resident Services Director.

Qualifications

• Must be certified by the State of Arizona as an Emergency Medical Technician.
• Must have valid CPR certification.
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good knowledge of Medical terms.
• Must be able to physically climb stairs, lift up to 150 pounds and apply first aid.

Responsibilities

• Know the medical policies and procedures.
• Respond to emergencies involving Residents, visitors or staff and evaluate/treat medical conditions.
• Identify Residents needing further assistance and participate in follow-up meetings with recommendations.
• Conduct assurance checks on Residents who have not responded to assurance buttons.
• Advise Residents on medical/health issues and assist with physician appointments and transportation when necessary.
• Take vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) when requested.
• Maintain triage logs and incident reports in residents’ files.
• Perform resident welfare checks and monitor oxygen supplies.
