Job summary

Independence Village of Traverse City is seeking a Caregiver to provide caring and personalized assistance for residents across three shifts. Responsibilities include bathing, dining assistance, mobility support, light housekeeping, and timely reporting of resident changes to the Wellness Leader.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED (preferred) and healthcare or geriatric experience is preferred; CNA or MA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Healthcare Geriatrics or experience working with the elderly population preferred.
• Certified Nurse Aide CNA or Medical Assistant MA Certification preferred.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
• Occasional lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Bathing, showering, and grooming assistance.
• Assist residents with dining.
• Provides wheelchair and walking escorts.
• Provides toileting and light incontinence care assistance.
• Assistance with morning and bedtime routines.
• Performs light upkeep of resident rooms.
• Answers resident call signals.
• Medication assistance and personal care as needed.
• Communicate changes to residents' needs to Wellness Leader.
• Attend staff meetings and maintain up-to-date knowledge of procedures.
