Job summary
Faith Day Habilitation, a division of Faith Home Healthcare, is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work with adults with intellectual disabilities and promote their wellbeing. The role involves implementing habilitation plans, assisting with personal care, and supporting community activities.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong counseling, communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Experience with adults with intellectual disabilities beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Establish positive relationships with persons receiving services, families, and staff.
- Maintain a professional demeanor with parents, guardians and professionals.
- Implement Habilitation and Behavioral Support plans.
- Assist with personal care of persons receiving support.
- Administer prescribed medications after completing medication administration course.
- Assist individuals with planning and participating in community activities.
- Drive agency vehicles for transportation of persons receiving support and follow vehicle policies.
