Faith Day Habilitation, a division of Faith Home Healthcare, is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work with adults with intellectual disabilities and promote their wellbeing. The role involves implementing habilitation plans, assisting with personal care, and supporting community activities.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Strong counseling, communication and interpersonal skills required.
Valid driver's license preferred.
Experience with adults with intellectual disabilities beneficial.

Responsibilities

Establish positive relationships with persons receiving services, families, and staff.
Maintain a professional demeanor with parents, guardians and professionals.
Implement Habilitation and Behavioral Support plans.
Assist with personal care of persons receiving support.
Administer prescribed medications after completing medication administration course.
Assist individuals with planning and participating in community activities.
Drive agency vehicles for transportation of persons receiving support and follow vehicle policies.

Faith Day Habilitation is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work directly with adults with intellectual disabilities while promoting their personal, physical and emotional wellbeing. The primary role of the Direct Support Professional is to work alongside the people we support in order to help them to achieve their personal goals.

About Faith Day Habilitation

Faith Day Habilitation, A Division of Faith Home Healthcare, is a community-based day habilitation center certified and licensed through the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities. Our program is dedicated to serving adult individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to assist and encourage them to reach their full potential. We believe that individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities should present an equal chance to live a happy and fulfilled life without being restricted by any limitations.

Key Responsibilities

Establish positive working relationships with persons receiving services, families, co-workers, management and the public.
Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with parents, guardians and other professionals.
Implement outlined Habilitation and Behavioral Support plans/programs.
Assist with personal care of persons receiving support as needed.
Administer prescribed medications to persons receiving support after successful completion of medication administration course.
Assist individuals with planning and participating in community activities.
Drive agency vehicles for transportation of persons receiving support and adhere to all related vehicle operation policies.
