GOWO Affordable Care LLC in Madison, TN seeks a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide personalized care for individuals with IDD. You will support daily living activities, assist with personal care, and help clients engage in community activities, building meaningful connections every day.

The role requires a patient, dependable, and person-centered approach, with strong communication and teamwork with supervisors, families, and health professionals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and person-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with IDD.
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Implement ISPs and document progress accurately.
• Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments and community activities.
• Administer medications and monitor health conditions per care plans.
• Encourage skill-building, independence, and community integration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and healthcare professionals.
