Job summary

Abound Health is hiring a reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide caregiving and daily living support for a 32-year-old female in Pittsboro, NC with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). As a DSP, you will assist with activities of daily living, community participation, and behavioral support to help her live independently.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Experience with disabilities not required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety in a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and case managers as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Complete ongoing training and professional development.
