Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability in New Jersey seeks dedicated Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will support daily living, safety, and skill-building in diverse settings, following person-centered plans and behavioral supports while coordinating with the team and families.

You will monitor health, administer medications as prescribed, transport to activities, document progress, and participate in trainings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• HS diploma or equivalent; valid Driver’s License with no more than five points.
• Ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 25 pounds.
• CPR/First Aid certification to be obtained within 120 days of appointment.
• PBIS and other required trainings to be completed as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care.
• Support in developing habilitative and rehabilitative skills.
• Monitor health, document progress, and communicate with clinical team.
• Administer medications as prescribed and manage inventory.
• Transport individuals to activities and appointments; maintain logs.
