Job summary

AMA Support Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate care and supervision for individuals in their homes and community. The DSP will help with daily living activities, safety, and personalized plans, working closely with the house manager and program team.

Responsibilities include recording tasks, coordinating transport, and supporting inclusive community participation. Flexibility with shifts and potential travel across sites is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively with others.
• Proficient technology skills: use of smart phone, laptops, web-based database navigation, data entry.

Responsibilities

• Represent AMA Support Services through action and presentation.
• Create a structured and nurturing environment responsive to participant needs.
• Ensure health, safety and personal development of participants in home/community.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including cleaning, cooking, laundry and medication administration.
• Provide personal care and hygiene support including bathing, grooming and toileting.
• Ensure service records and documentation are complete and compliant with regulations.
• Facilitate and support relationships with participants and their support networks.
• Promote safety and respond to incidents in line with regulations.
