Job summary

COMHAR is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct services and residential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role emphasizes dignity, privacy, and independence while assisting with daily living activities and community engagement in a residential setting.

The DSP will support meals, personal care, documentation, and crisis intervention across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED).
• Current PA Driver's License with satisfactory driving record.
• Six months of related experience in an IDD Residential facility or related environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of all consumer records.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, person-centered support to individuals with IDD in a residential setting.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and household tasks.
• Support meal preparation, proper nutrition, serving meals and cleanup.
• Administer approved medications according to guidelines.
• Safely operate program vehicles to transport consumers as needed.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation for all duties.
