Job summary

RHA Health Services is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for part-time evenings to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those facing mental health or substance use challenges. The DSP will assist with daily living, community engagement, and person-centered planning, promoting independence and self-advocacy.

Duties include documentation, collaboration with supervisors, and ensuring safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to foster independence while providing necessary support will be needed.
• Knowledge of disability rights, self-advocacy, and community integration principles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals' rights and support person-centered goals.
• Promote health, safety, and wellness through daily activities and programs.
• Encourage self-advocacy and independence in living arrangements.
• Accompany individuals to work, community activities, and social events.
• Assist with daily living tasks, transportation, and personal care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress.
• Ensure confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in care.
