Job summary

RHA Health Services is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a Saturday 8a–8p shift. The DSP provides person-centered support to individuals with disabilities and mental health needs, helping them engage in meaningful community activities and achieve personal goals.

The role focuses on advocacy, independence, and compassionate care under supervision, with emphasis on safety, record-keeping, and collaboration with the team to enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass pre-employment screening.
• Knowledge of disability rights and community integration principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to foster independence while providing support.
• Experience with documentation and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals’ rights, health and safety.
• Support wellness initiatives and accident prevention.
• Encourage self-advocacy and independence.
• Facilitate community engagement and accompany to activities.
• Assist with personal care tasks and daily living skills.
• Provide transportation for appointments and activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services.
