Job summary

Premier Community Supports, LLC seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Hermiston, OR to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live as independently as possible.

You will work in clients' homes and community settings, following individualized plans, documenting progress, and coordinating with families and teams to promote safety, dignity, and meaningful participation.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Preferred: 6 months I/DD or 1 year caregiving experience.
• Pass criminal background check per state requirements (Oregon OARs).
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable vehicle (if transportation duties apply).
• Smartphone access for documentation and timekeeping.
• CPR & First Aid certification (training provided if needed).
• Willingness to complete 24 hours minimum training annually.
• Comfort around animals (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Build a supportive, person-centered relationship with the individual and deliver care that aligns with their ISP.
• Promote autonomy and choice: support the individual in exercising their rights and making decisions.
• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, and help with household tasks.
• Collaborate with the individual, their family and the support team to enable best-possible outcomes.
• Facilitate community participation: plan and attend social, recreational and appointment-based activities.
• Support budgeting, shopping and meal preparation as needed.
• With appropriate training, administer medications or support medication protocols.
• Identify and report incidents or changes in health, behavior or circumstances, and maintain required documentation.
• Provide transportation in a personal vehicle if required for errands or appointments.
• Adapt to schedule variations (day/evening/night shifts; weekends) to meet needs.
