Job summary

Firefly Supported Living & Employment Services is hiring a Direct Support Professional (Caregiver) in Nevada, MO. This part-time role offers paid training and a chance to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities gain independence and meaningful life skills.

You will support daily living activities, assist with community participation, and document progress while working as part of a compassionate team dedicated to person-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (if applicable).
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• May involve lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in clients' homes and communities.
• Assist with daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, money management).
• Provide transportation for appointments, shopping, and outings.
• Document client progress and milestones.
• Follow Individual Support Plans (ISP) and participate in team meetings.
