Job summary

Firefly Supported Living & Employment Services in Springfield, MO is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help adults with developmental disabilities live more independent lives. You'll join a caring team delivering daily support, teaching life skills, and promoting dignity and growth in the community.

No experience is required; paid training is provided. The role emphasizes presence, patience and connection, with opportunities for career growth and a supportive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable).
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.
• Help individuals access community resources and participate in social activities.
• Provide transportation for appointments, shopping, and community outings.
• Teach independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and money management.
• Document client progress, achievements, and milestones.
• Follow each individual’s ISP, participate in team meetings and training.
