Job summary

LIFE, Inc. - Wilmington is seeking a Direct Support Professional for part-time 2nd shift. Compensation is $17.50 per hour. The role involves assisting clients with daily self-care, meals, and activities, while ensuring safety and following care plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Age 21 or older.
• NC Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients with self-care activities (dressing, bathing, toileting).
• Assist and monitor clients during meals to support family-style dining.
• Support clients with housekeeping tasks (clothing care, cleaning, yard work).
• Assist in preparing meals and nutritional supplements.
• Administer prescribed medications without error under supervision.
• Follow prescribed diet orders and use of adaptive equipment.
• Implement behavior programs, collect data, and follow safety procedures.
• Support active treatment through training objectives, data recording, and service goals.
• Communicate client information to supervisory staff as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Transport and monitor clients in company vehicles as directed.
• Accompany clients on community outings and participate in school/day program activities.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by managers.
