Job summary

Glenwood is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide compassionate direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home setting. Responsibilities include helping with personal care, medication reminders, safety, and documentation, while promoting individualized goals.

Applicants must be 21 or older, hold a valid Alabama driver’s license, and pass background screenings. CNA is a plus, and state/program certifications may apply.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• 21+ years old with a valid Alabama driver’s license and insurability.
• Must pass pre-employment and background screenings including DHR Child Abuse & Neglect Registry and ABI/FBI checks.
• CNA credential is a plus; ability to meet state/program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care in a group home or home-like setting.
• Assist with personal care tasks, including hygiene, grooming, feeding, and ambulation.
• Support residents to achieve person-centered goals in the Day Habilitation component.
• Monitor safety, document services, and report changes to the office.
• Assist with medication reminders (with proper training) and transportation as needed.
• Maintain a safe environment and comply with regulations.
