Job summary

Assisting Hands seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist a female individual with Cerebral Palsy in her home. The role focuses on helping with all ADLs, ensuring safety during transfers, and following the Plan of Care with strict attention to privacy and rights.

CPR/First Aid certification and a background check are required or preferred. Experience with developmental disabilities and familiarity with EVV are beneficial.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred or required.
• Background check and drug screening are required.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is valued.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with ALL ADLs.
• Assist her mom with safe transfers to ensure safety of both the individual and the caregiver.
• Reposition every 2 hours to maintain comfort and prevent pressure injuries.
• Adhere to specific protocols and rules when caring for the individual with attention to detail.
• Document services provided (CBS Log) and maintain accurate records.
• Familiarity with EVV is a plus.
• Advocate for the individual's rights and privacy at all times.
• Ensure safety and well-being of the individual and report changes to supervisor/family.
• Possibility of additional duties as assigned by guardian or coordinator.
