Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a group home in Charlotte, NC. The DSP will support individuals with IDD in daily living activities, including housekeeping, meals, personal care, and community integration, in the home and community setting.

This full-time, on-site position requires a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, and a willingness to learn. Compensation is $17.00 per hour, with training in CPR/first aid and related care practices

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Entry-level, on-the-job training provided.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn.
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety knowledge.
• Reliable transportation; valid driver's license and auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
• Provide personal care (bathing, dressing, toiletry) and assist with daily living tasks.
• Transport client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the client's schedule.
• Document daily care activities in the electronic health record.
