Job summary

Addus HomeCare is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently at home. The role offers flexible hours and the chance to learn the fundamentals of quality home care while making a meaningful impact in clients' daily lives.

Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, and transportation for appointments and errands.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of in-home care experience.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and work with limited supervision.
• Good communication, reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized.
• Comfortable using an electronic device.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
