Job summary

Viva Senior Living invites applications for a Server to join our dining services team in New Jersey. You will deliver meals and beverages to residents, support dining room setup, and help provide a warm, compassionate resident experience.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, English literacy, adherence to attendance policies, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. You will collaborate with Food & Beverage staff and nursing to ensure excellent service.

Qualifications

• Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Maintain compassion and dignity with residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
• Able to work well with peers and follow attendance policies.
• May be subject to call back during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide meals and beverages to residents in the dining room and ensure total resident experience.
• Set up and clean up dining room; assist with prep/closing duties.
• Take attendance at meals if assigned.
• Offer residents beverages prior to meal, including ice water, juice of choice, milk, or other beverages as desired.
• Ensure condiments and dining room prepared for service.
• Inform kitchen of resident meal concerns; stay available during service.
• Work with Food & Beverage Director, Dining Room Supervisor, Cooks, nursing staff as needed.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies; wear uniform and nametag.
