Job summary

Southwest LTC is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to assist in preparing, serving, and delivering meals to residents while adhering to dietary guidelines and safety standards. You will support the dietary team, maintain a clean dining and kitchen environment, and provide friendly, respectful interaction with residents during meals, promoting dignity and comfort.

Prior food service or healthcare experience is preferred but not required, and the role may include inventory tasks, portion control,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in dietary services, food service, or healthcare preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and infection control practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25–50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and serving according to approved menus and dietary specifications.
• Deliver meals to residents in a timely and courteous manner.
• Ensure proper portion sizes and accommodate special diets, allergies, or texture modifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, kitchen, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and reporting shortages.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and facility protocols.
• Provide friendly, respectful interaction with residents during meals and snack service.
