Job summary

Apploi is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with meal preparation and service according to planned menus and special diet orders. The role includes maintaining clean and safe food service areas, following infection control procedures, and delivering meals and snacks to residents in the dining room.

Candidates should have patience and good English communication skills. Responsibilities include dishwashing, assisting in food cart deliveries, and helping with kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must maintain the care & use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
• Must possess the patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm, and be willing to handle residents based on their current maturity level.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare & serve meals in accordance with planned menus with standardized recipes & special diet orders.
• Prepare & serve residents nutritional bedtime snacks and substitute foods for residents who refuse foods served; ensure sanitary preparation.
• Ensure department is clean & safe; maintain equipment & supplies; follow Infection Control Precautions.
• Perform dishwashing/cleaning; deliver snacks, carts, trays to designated areas; serve in dining room; sweep & mop floors as instructed by supervisor.
