Job summary

The Waters of Wabash East Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals for our residents, supporting their well-being and comfort in a caring environment.

As part of a collaborative food service team, you will help with menu planning, food safety, and daily kitchen operations, contributing to a high-quality dining experience for residents and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift, bend, and move equipment and supplies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals for our residents, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist with menu planning, food ordering, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager to ensure high-quality food service and resident satisfaction.
• Work effectively as part of a team to ensure seamless service and support to our residents and staff.
• Maintain accurate records of food preparation, stock levels, and resident preferences.
• Participate in in-service training and continuing education to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
