Job summary

A Dietary Cook is supervised by the Dietary Services Manager and prepares, seasons and cooks meals for nursing home residents, staff and visitors. This full-time role requires working every other weekend, with duties including inventory, kitchen maintenance, and following facility protocols.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of institutional food service experience, with a compassionate approach to residents and their families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience in institutionalized food service.
• Must be compassionate and patient with elderly residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Assist in cleaning up and kitchen maintenance.
• Prepare snacks and take inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
• Learn facility protocols and state rules where they work.
• Demonstrate dependability and responsibility and come to work as scheduled.
• Present clean, neat clothing and appropriate appearance.
