Job summary

The Waters of McKenzie in Tennessee is seeking an experienced Cook to support breakfast, lunch and dinner service for residents, following dietary restrictions and offering alternatives as needed.

Candidates should have at least a high school education, sanitation certification, plus some dietary or hospital kitchen experience; ability to cook large quantities and maintain sanitation, professionalism and compassion for elders.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or equivalent.
• One (1) year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary).
• Must have a sanitation certificate.
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be knowledgeable of dietary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cook and assist with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner following dietary restrictions.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene standards.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Provide alternatives for residents with limited self-care capacity.
• Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment in daily decisions.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional appearance.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing to perform job duties.
