Job summary

Atrium Health Care Center is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook and Aid to join our team in Chicago, IL. You will prepare and serve meals and snacks to residents and staff, maintain sanitation, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines while collaborating with the Food Service Supervisor and Administrator.

The role requires 1 year of cooking experience, a food service license or sanitation certification, and strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1 year of cooking experience required.
• Food service license and/or sanitation certification required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to guidelines.
• Follow written and oral instructions for food preparation.
• Demonstrate knowledge of seasoning, cooking times, and various cuts of meat, poultry, fish, grains, fruits and vegetables.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary food prep area in compliance with regulations.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Collaborate with the Food Service Supervisor and Administrator to ensure smooth operations.
