Job summary

MercyOne Health System is hiring a Dietary Assistant to assist in providing high quality food service for patients of all ages. You will help assemble trays, deliver meals, maintain sanitation, and ensure safe handling of dishes and equipment.

The role requires flexibility, good communication, and adherence to safety and confidentiality policies, with rotating shifts and weekend/holiday rotation as part of the PRN schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, speak and follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Manual dexterity to operate foodservice equipment and dishwashing stations.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and deliver food trays/meals for patients/residents; work in the dish room.
• Communicate professionally and maintain confidentiality.
• Complete tasks with flexibility as assigned.
• Prepare patient trays according to guidelines and serve accurately.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary foodservice environment and sanitize equipment.
• Use appropriate chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing.
• Clean station and utensils, store dishes after washing.
• Clean dish machine and pots/pans area per procedure.
