Qualifications

• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent customer service skills with geriatric patients or residents.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and adhere to safety protocols.
• Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management.
• Experience working in nursing homes, hospitals, or similar healthcare environments is desirable.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely with proper lifting techniques.
• Knowledge of nutrition principles relevant to senior care settings.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents or patients in accordance with their dietary needs and preferences.
• Assist with food preparation, including basic cooking, portioning, and plating of meals.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through proper sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Support the dietary department by bussing tables, clearing trays, and ensuring a tidy environment.
• Adhere to food safety protocols, including proper handling of food and use of PPE.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal service and preparation.
• Follow established procedures for manual handling and safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
