Job summary

Aperion Care Westchester is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist all food functions in accordance with established policies and procedures. You will review, prepare and serve meals per planned menus and special diets, and provide nutritional snacks as needed.

You will maintain a clean and safe department, follow infection control standards, and assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and food delivery to dining areas under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must maintain the care & use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare & serve meals in accordance with planned menus with standardized recipes & special diet orders. Prepare & serve residents nutritional bedtime snacks. Ensure sanitary preparation and service.
• Ensure the department is maintained clean and safe by keeping equipment and supplies in order and adhering to infection control precautions.
• Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures to keep utensils available for next meal.
• Prepare & deliver snacks and trays, deliver food carts to designated areas and assist dining room service.
