Job summary

Smoky Ridge Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a reliable Dietary Aide to join our team. The role assists in preparing and serving meals to residents, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment to support nutritional well-being and quality of life.

The part-time shift is 12pm-8pm, with every other weekend coverage. Competitive pay is based on years of experience, and benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous dietary aide experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of special diets and food allergies is helpful.
• Must pass background check and health screening per facility requirements.
• Must be available to work 12pm-8pm.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks according to posted menus and dietary restrictions.
• Set up dining areas and deliver trays to residents’ rooms as needed.
• Ensure all kitchen and dining areas are clean, organized, and meet sanitation and safety standards.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment used in meal preparation and service.
• Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing food and supplies.
• Follow proper food handling, portioning, and storage procedures.
• Communicate effectively with residents and coworkers to promote a positive dining experience.
• Report any issues with food quality, resident concerns, or kitchen equipment to the supervisor.
• Participate in ongoing training and maintain compliance with all regulations and facility policies.
