Qualifications

• High School graduate; institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate dietary equipment safely.
• Flexible hours including emergencies; patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned.
• Assist the cook in the preparation and service of meals.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Department policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Set up the dining room and serve the residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; maintain sanitation and safety.
• Report any damaged equipment or supply needs; follow safety procedures.
• Assist in receiving and storing food supplies; follow emergency plans.
• Understand and follow infection control policies.
