Job summary

Hayesville House is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will assist in meal preparation, portioning, and serving according to dietary plans, while supporting a clean, safe kitchen and inviting dining areas.

This role emphasizes teamwork, food safety, and compassionate service to seniors. Prior food service experience is welcome; training and growth opportunities are available within Hayesville House.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required).
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance, set up and serve meals, ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, check inventory, and notify of shortages.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Resident Engagement: Assist with special dietary requests and resident preferences during meals.
