Job summary

Eastern Health Group is seeking a dietary aide to assist in preparing and serving meals in a hospital or long-term care setting. The role focuses on maintaining sanitary kitchen and dining areas under supervision, while supporting residents with meals and diet preferences.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and strong English communication, professionalism, and teamwork. Training and ongoing opportunities are provided in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care dietary department preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication.
• Highest level of professionalism with confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate at all levels and work well in a team.
• Customer service oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Identify process improvements to enhance the customer experience and workflow.
• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks.
• Check trays for menu and diet accuracy.
• Deliver meals to residents and set up serving lines.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitize equipment.
• Stock and store food items; assist in inventory.
• Report hazardous conditions as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
