Job summary

PIH Health is seeking a Dialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patient care before, during, and after dialysis under the delegation of an acute inpatient dialysis RN. The PCT will handle direct and non-direct patient care and ensure machine/equipment QA following hospital policy and federal regulations.

The role emphasizes knowledge of infection control, medical terminology, and patient/family teaching, with preferred acute care experience.

Qualifications

• HD technician certification required.
• 2 years prior experience as a dialysis technician.
• Current Basic Life Support Card.
• Acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and non-direct patient care before, during, and after dialysis under the supervision of the acute inpatient dialysis RN.
• Perform quality assurance for dialysis machines and equipment in compliance with hospital policy and federal regulations.

Job description

The dialysis patient care technician (PCT) will provide care for the patient receiving dialysis, before, during and after the dialysis treatment, under the direct supervision and delegation of the acute inpatient dialysis Registered Nurse (RN). The dialysis PCT will provide direct and non-direct patient care, under their scope of practice, as deemed necessary by the acute inpatient dialysis RN. In addition, the dialysis PCT will provide quality assurance for machines and equipment in compliance with hospital policy and federal regulations.
